La Liga, Spain’s top soccer league, has significantly influenced the careers of many soccer icons, shaping the world’s view of the sport. Lionel Messi, often considered one of the best soccer players in history, played mainly for Barcelona, winning numerous titles and breaking records for the most goals in La Liga.

“As the sports world continues to embrace digital innovation, cryptocurrencies, blockchain and emerging technologies are becoming an integral part of this transformation,” – Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, said. “Partnering with LALIGA allows us to accelerate the growth of cryptocurrencies in sports, bringing new opportunities to fans and athletes alike.

Cryptocurrency sponsorships are gaining popularity in sports, reflecting the widespread use of digital currencies in everyday life. This growth is fueled by favorable partnerships between sports organizations and cryptocurrency companies.

Earlier this year, UEFA sought cryptocurrency sponsorship for the 2024-2027 men’s Champions League cycle. As a result, Crypto.com became the first and exclusive global cryptocurrency platform partner for the tournament.

La Liga previously struck another cryptocurrency deal. In 2021, it formed a multi-year partnership with Divi Labs, naming Divi as the official cryptocurrency wallet for La Liga in the MENA, Southeast Asia and China regions .
